The less bitter goodbye

At the end of last week we had the opportunity, for an hour and via streaming, enjoy the new album from David Ramirez. In "Apologies" Ramirez enjoyed the most balanced, without being so crude as in "Strangetown EP", not as overproduced as "American Soul", the production of this album gets completely immersed in the world of vibrant and sensitive songwriter from Austin (Texas).

Preparing to go face to August 28 (official release date of the album) David has gone to the network in acoustic interpretation of 'Goodbye', probably the most sad and melancholy of all that sound on the disc. That air almost emo that we like David has returned to stay afloat as a cut very similar to parts of his eternal relation.

Tom Chaplin (Keane) decides to start his solo career explode

In recent months, members of Keane have been working up to promote "Strangeland". Video recorded with Bayonne, numerous concerts in Europe and the United States, countless promotional events ... The British do not have hardly a second to take a little break. Luckily Tom Chaplin, singer, has just confirmed via Daily Star that sometime in the future will use to begin work on a 100% personal career.

"When my themes will launch a solo project under" - Tom said to UK magazine. "In Keane know what we do and the roles we have, so it would make sense that the songs estrenase outside the band." Despite the primitive state of all this new project, knows where Chaplin throw new parts: "the lyrics are very direct. Maybe your setup is too explicit, and documenting what happened to me over the head in the last seven years of life. "

We have never had the opportunity to hear any solo material so Tom Chaplin will be very interesting to discover the qualities that can come to treasure the Battle without help from Tim, Richard and Jesse. But we doubt that Chaplin debuts nothing until after the second third of 2013. Among the tours with Keane missing - including dates that will bring in Madrid (October 19), Pamplona (October 23) and Barcelona (October 24) - and preparation / recording / editing the record that we have no another to take the issue calmly.

Norah Jones and dark twisted games of 'Miriam'

In five studio albums Norah Jones has convinced us that it is a full-fledged artist. His melodies are evolving, his talent for composing is going well and his vocal ability is becoming more and more refined. With "Little Broken Hearts", fifth LP released in the same year, Jones wanted to get rid of any stylistic straitjacket order to show its most versatile. There seduction, fragility and fantasy in an album that has most amazed by exposing a subject like 'Miriam' part where Norah gives vent to his spirit dark and twisted.

In "Miriam Norah plays slowly torturing the person you cheated on your partner. So acid that play with the death of another person is also reflected in the video the same issue that has led Phil Andelman (Ryan Adams - Lucky Now, Band Of Horses - Dilly). The best thing about this? The final moment, where just video and cohesive theme.

Norah Jones recall that soon will come to Spain to present his new album live. Well apuntaros dates: September 20 in Barcelona (L 'Auditorium) and 23 of that month in Madrid (Palacio Municipal de Congresos). Tickets can be purchased through LiveNation.

Humbug

the-united-states-of-hoodoo

Before watching the documentary The United States of Hoodoo, it probably has as little idea of the audience in the movie Voodoo religion. Afterwards, however, did not.
The starting point seems really promising. The German director Oliver Hardt follows the black American author Darius James on his journey through the U.S., where he will explore the origins of the Voodoo religion and its roots in American society. He meets an artist, teacher and friends of tries and, from them we learn more about this foreign culture.
Unfortunately, it remains at the trial. James proves to be a strange questioner. He often seems strangely uninterested or even scattered, hooked quite interesting in the present moment not to be, but his most boring talking endlessly about trivial talk long. It lacks a coherent strategy. Many of the respondents have done only very remotely connected with the actual topic. The film fails because something extraordinary to show or even unknown, James talks about the weather instead. When he then towards the end of ten minutes a session with his friends discussed above, where a just-cooked food comes from, you will lose viewers as completely out of patience. Why should an interest in this "gumbo" court? What is the significance of its origin at all? All that remains, like so many mysteries. Certainly, even a broad approach to topic in a documentary to be useful: Just The United States of Hoodoo would take a more committed or just more interesting main character.
So the movie is good, unfortunately that is not the character study yet to discover an unknown religion and culture. A small number of people have taken a short time to tell quite interesting, some of the intermediate sections of music flashed a certain beauty, but remains a perception out completely. Afterwards you have not learned much new, and knows so much about voodoo as before. Darius James says at the end of himself, he "would have only scratched the surface." Because he's right.
